WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Friday, Putin and Abe discussed an array of bilateral and international issues at a rare meeting in the southern Russian city of Sochi.
"Continued unity among our partners including the European Union and the G7 remain vital in our approach to Russia," Trudeau stated when asked to comment on Putin’s meeting with Abe.
The United States, Trudeau noted, consults regularly with Tokyo on a range of regional and global issues.
Speaking ahead of the three-hour talks at the president’s summer residence, Putin said that Japan was an important partner for Russia in the Asia-Pacific Region.
