NEW YORK (Sputnik) — Clinton has come under significant criticism for using a private server and email address for official business during her tenure as secretary of state from 2009 until 2013.
"I’ve always heard you can never really delete an email so it should be able to be found if they [US government] really want to find them. But I don’t think they want to find them," Trump stated.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting a criminal investigation into the matter, while advocacy group Judicial Watch is conducting a civil case against Clinton to obtain the content of the emails.
An earlier investigation into the matter has found that Clinton shared more than 100 emails about highly classified US government programs and other sensitive information via her unsecured private server and email account.
The US presidential election is scheduled to take place on November 8, 2016.
