MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day local media reported that Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej died at the age of 88 having spent several years in a hospital.
"During the decades of his rule, he earned sincere love of his subjects as well as high prestige abroad. In Russia, he will be remembered as a principled supporter of development of relations of friendship and cooperation between our countries," Putin said, as quoted by the Kremlin.
